(UPDATE 6/29/21 @ 12:55 p.m.): South Dakota Highway Patrol has identified the man killed in a fatal rollover crash in Haakon County Saturday morning.
23-year-old Timothy Womack of Philip was killed after being partially-ejected from his 2000 Chevrolet Monte Carlo.
Womack was the driver and only occupant of the vehicle, and was not wearing a seat belt.
PHILIP, S.D. — One person has died in a one-vehicle crash northwest of Philip early Saturday morning.
Preliminary crash information indicates that a 2000 Chevrolet Monte Carlo was westbound on East Grindstone Road when the driver lost control of the vehicle and went into the north ditch first, then into the south ditch and rolled.
The 23-year-old male driver was not wearing a seat belt and was partially ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene. The name of the driver has not been released pending notification of family members.
South Dakota’s Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. All information released so far is only preliminary.
