RAPID CITY, S.D. — A film festival is again in Rapid City after a pandemic hiatus.
The Banff Film Festival is returning to the Elks Theater in downtown Rapid City, hailing from metropolis of Banff in Alberta, Canada. For practically 20 years, Rapid City has been a cease on the USA leg of its world tour.
Programs run Monday and Tuesday, about two and a half hours every. Films will likely be operating between 5 and 45 minutes, with an outdoors-adventure theme.
With the Black Hills area having many outside actions to provide, organizers hope to get folks enthusiastic about exploring the good outside on film.
“I believe it simply hypes lots of people up for the summer time,” stated Communications Coordinator for the Dahl Arts Center, Keith Grant. “It’s simply beginning to get good and these movies are very for the outdoor-oriented folks, or actually anybody simply wanting that thrill, fringe of your seat kind factor.”
Those in attendance can even have an opportunity to win some cool prizes to get out on an journey of their very own.
“Each night time it begins at 6:30 p.m., the doorways will open at 6:00 p.m. We are in the primary theatre. We even have a prize giveaway throughout the intermission,” Grant stated. “We have some actually cool issues like Black Hills Balloons, you may win a free scorching balloon journey, now we have some kayak leases. You know, some actually cool issues for the prize giveaway.”
