RAPID CITY, S.D. — The Rapid City Rush have released details for the team’s annual “Rush Gives Back Night” and “Teddy Bear Toss” on Saturday, April 3 versus the Wichita Thunder.
Regardless of location, every ticket for the game will be $25 – $5 of which will go into a fund and be donated to four partner organizations: Boys and Girls Clubs of the Black Hills, Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), Fork Real Café, and Special Olympics South Dakota.
The annual “Teddy Bear Toss” will take place on the same night, but due to COVID-19 protocol, the Rush is asking fans to throw their brand new teddy bears onto the ice during first intermission, not after the first Rush goal as was previously custom. After the game, the bears will be donated to CASA, Rural America Initiatives, and Youth and Family Services.
“Since I joined the Rush family in 2019, my goal has not just been to build an organization that succeeds on the ice, but to create a team that excels off the ice as a community partner. I can’t begin to express how proud I am of our staff and team that this mission has not been taken lightly and is the forefront of one of our upcoming promotional nights,” said Todd Mackin, President of Spire Hockey.
