RAPID CITY, S.D. — The local anti-trafficking organization called Treasured Lives held a fundraiser recently with Bazzel Baz as the keynote speaker. The event also served as a means to raise awareness of sex trafficking in South Dakota.
The event inspired many in attendance to want to do more by getting advanced training so they can get involved.
The training will be conducted by Bazzel Baz and other former CIA agents along with military special ops personnel with the Association of the Recovery of Children.
The training will include prevention, intervention, advocacy and direct service to the victims.
Treasured Lives Executive Director Kelly Patterson says anyone can be a part of this boots-on-the-ground effort to stop trafficking, as long as they have the passion.
Patterson says, “Anyone with a passion to see our children in this state safe, but we are getting the understanding that trafficking is happening everyday under our nose in South Dakota and we’ve got to do something to keep our children safe.”
The training workshop will be held for five days, from April 20 – 24. The fee is $500. The deadline to register is March 2. There is limited space.
