Belle Fourche community enjoys fifth annual Pumpkin Festival

BELLE FOURCHE, S.D. —It was a bit of spooky and pumpkin filled time in Belle Fourche on Saturday for the fifth annual Pumpkin Festival.

The event was held at the Tri-State Museum and in Belle Fourche’s Community Hall, which is usually meant to be more of a business jump starter and festive time during Halloween but was pushed up due to weather.

Community members were able to shop at local vendors and soak in some rays during some child musical performances, who also got a little ride on the town’s makeshift train all while try their hand at pumpkin carving.

It’s a fun time for the community, but it’s also a representation of the relationship between vendors, the Belle Fourche Chamber and a number of partnerships making events like this happen.

“We work very closely with them with different activities, and obviously this big event that we have happening here today, so it’s just kind of nice to have those partnerships where we work very closely together,” said Miranda Gallagher, the Executive Director of the Belle Fourche Chamber of Commerce.

Roughly 20 vendors sold their merchandise at this year’s pumpkin festival.
