RAPID CITY, S.D. — With the warmer weather, the start of May, and the approaching end of the school year, many parents are beginning to look for things for their kids to do this summer.
Black Hills Parent hosted the 2021 Summer Camps Expo at the Evergreen Media building in downtown Rapid City Saturday.
The event brought camps and classes from around the Black Hills area together in one location to help parents plan a fun summer for their kids. The event is geared towards children ages five to 13.
The Summer Camp Expo has everything from sports and workshops to faith-based fun and educational experiences. There’s something for every kid to enjoy.
Rick Deherder, owner of Black Hills Parent Magazine, said, “As a parenting magazine we thought it would be fun and useful to the camps and parents to, you know, create something that gave people an opportunity to come together and kind of hear about the things that we can offer and the different things that we have available.”
This was the fourth annual Summer Expo event and there will be one again next year.
