Black Hills Works breaks ground on newest housing location

RAPID CITY, S.D. —  Black Hills Works breaks ground at its newest housing location.

Work on the four-person dwelling at Curtis Street on the city’s north side is expected to begin later this month. The four efficiency apartments will include kitchens, access to a handicap bathroom between two units, and a community laundry room and living room.

Black Hills Works says this will provide the residents with a therapeutic setting in a community home.

“This gives people a place that they can call home, a place where they can hang their photographs, a place where they can call their friends and be on their computer and do all the things that everybody else does at home,” said Andrea Serna, the Black Hills Works Foundation President.

This project was made possible through community development block grants with the land being donated by the city.
