STURGIS, S.D. – The Boulder Canyon Station Convention Center hosted its first “Christmas in Wonderland” for kids of all ages, giving them an opportunity to get into fun activities for the holiday season.
Santa Claus made an appearance along with other local vendors. Kids were able to paint, decorate cookies, write their own Christmas cards to their parents, or drop off a personal letter to Santa. Shawn Fischer, who has recently taken over the Convention Center, wanted to re-energize the spirit of Christmas during what has been a tough year for many.
“I hope it brings out the excitement of Christmas. I hope everybody gets in the Christmas mood, forgets everything that has happened negative in 2020, and that we’re all excited to move on,” said Fischer.
Organizers plans on making “Christmas in Wonderland” an annual event.
