RAPID CITY, S.D. – What do you get when you combine the best bull riders and top ranked bulls in the country?
The answer is the CINCH Bull Challenge.
For the first time ever, the CINCH Bull Challenge will make a stop in Rapid City on Friday and Saturday June 25-26 at the Central States Fairgrounds.
The event will feature over 40 of the top bull riders, along with 20 different stock contractors who will take their shot at over $130,000 in prize money.
In fact, the CINCH Bull Challenge is a unique concept where the stock contractors actually get to draft and pick which contestants get to ride their bulls.
“So the stock contractors are actually paying a $5,000 entry fee to compete at this event which is a lot of money for a stock contractor,” said Nate Morrison with the CINCH Bull Challenge. “But that money goes into a pot. So it’s like a big jackpot of a hundred and some thousand dollars that these guys are going to compete for. The concept of it is when they’re putting in that kind of money into an event, they want to have control of what bull riders are riding in their event.”
The gates open at 5 p.m. both Friday and Saturday with the bull riding action set to kick off at 6 p.m.
Fans will also have a chance to meet a two-time PBR world champion bull rider on Friday.
“We’re going to have a special meet and greet with two-time PBR World Champion Jess Lockwood,” said Morrison. “He will be here from 5-6 when you walk through the gates signing autographs, taking pictures. You get a chance to meet with him. Visit with him. That’s going to be Friday night only from 5-6.”
All seats are general admission and tickets are available at the gate.
Tickets for adults are $15 each.
Kids 10 and under are free.
