Chandelle Brink and her husband started Code Ninjas in Rapid City as an option for kids to come together, form teams and groups, develop social skills and learn about coding.
What is Code Ninjas?
Code Ninjas provides an educational opportunity for kids after school where they can do everything from coding to robotics, gaming, problem solving and critical thinking.
Chandelle said they see that if these kids can start understanding early on, it’ll become part of their language, part of their being.
“And they can then take it and grow and build, whether it be in the healthcare industry, whether it be in the automotive or I.T. world, whatever it happens to be, they will get to be part of that forward thinking planning rather than just the consumer,” Chandelle said.
When the kids work together to create some type of a project, social skills are gained, and the kids can become problem solvers together and learn from it.
“We love seeing the kids come together and be problem solvers together as a team.” Learn more with ConnectCenter1.
Does Code Ninjas have different learning options?
- Junior Program – Builds a foundation of coding and problem solving skills for kids five to seven years old
- Create Program – Kids aged seven to 14 build their own video games and develop coding skills on the path from white to black belt
There are also club options, and day camps when school is out of session. Programs are guided by a team of code Sensei’s.
