RAPID CITY, S.D. — Dakota Market Square located in the old KMart in Rapid City has been in development for a couple of years with more businesses renting space in the strip mall.
Dream Design International is transforming the 180,000 square foot area. It’s located at East North and Campbell, one of the busiest intersections in Rapid City. With the extreme makeover going on, Dream Design says people will barely recognize the area when it’s completed.
“It’s basically like a brand new building,” said Kyle Treloar, Vice President for Dream Design International. “We’ve moved through and systematically remodeled and leased out different areas throughout the building. And it’s been fun to watch that whole block change shape and the nature of the block change shape as we’ve continued to the retrofit upgrade that building. It’s got incredible potential for all sorts of uses and that’s what we have seen come to fruition as we’ve started to lease out these spaces.”
The plan is to finish the inside during the winter and finish the outside during the spring.
