DEADWOOD, S.D. – The Professional Bull Riders “Unleash the Beast” premier series will buck into Deadwood this weekend, Sept. 25-26.
Fans will have the chance to watch 35 of the top bull riders, along with the rankest bucking bulls in the country at the Days of ’76 Rodeo Grounds.
While Deadwood has hosted the PBR’s pro division tour for six consecutive years, this will be the first time that the “Unleash the Beast” tour has ever made a stop in the historic city.
“It’s a great family event I believe,” said two-time PBR world champion Jess Lockwood. “You’ve got Flint Rasmussen. He’s the entertainer. He’s going to keep the crowd on their feet and busy when there’s breaks in between the bull riding. Like I said before, you’re going to see the top riders, the top bulls and some amazing rides.”
The bull riders are running out of time to qualify for the Professional Bull Riders World Finals which is coming up Nov. 3-7 in Las Vegas.
“It’s important for everyone in the PBR,” said Lockwood. “Whether its the guys trying to make the finals or the guys competing for a world title. Then on the other side of things, there’s a world champion bull race as well. You’re going to see some of those bulls in that world champion bull race have outs in Deadwood, South Dakota. It’s important for everyone, the bulls and the riders.”
The PBR Unleash the Beast tour will be held this weekend at the Days of ’76 rodeo grounds in Deadwood.
The action kicks off at 5:45 p.m. on Saturday and 1:45 p.m. on Sunday.
