DEADWOOD, S.D. — It was a great day for the wrap-up of Deadwood’s eighth annual Forks, Corks and Kegs event.
The festival began on Friday, with a two-hour wine tasting tour of the town.
Saturday’s event started at 11 a.m. and included chefs from around Deadwood who prepared samples of their favorite meals. Those were paired with wine, beer, and cocktails.
According to chamber officials, planning for the events is an all-around effort.
“This event truly takes a city-wide effort,” said Lee Harstad, the Executive Director of the Deadwood Chamber of and Visitors Bureau. “The Chamber, we facilitate, we help to organize it but it’s really all these individual business that step up and really get the job done and really provide a great food and a great paired beverage with it,”
Tickets went for $75 dollars and the event sold out, as it does every year. The event concluded with a grand tasting that was held at the Deadwood Mountain Grand Event Center.
