ELLSWORTH AIR FORCE BASE, S.D. — The twenty eighth Civil Engineer Squadron and Air Force Wildland Fire Branch are planning controlled burns on Ellsworth Air Force Base starting on April 16, relying on climate situations.
The base says fires will improve vegetation and enhance environmental situations on Ellsworth Air Force Base, and that controlled burns are the most secure and best technique obtainable to environmental managers for vegetation enhancement.
