RAPID CITY, S.D. — Evangelist Will Graham has announced a major collaboration with churches in the Black Hills.
Church and community leaders have launched the Black Hills Paha Sapa Celebration with Graham. In continuing the work of his grandfather, Billy Graham, Will Graham will host a large evangelical event at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center. Graham and his team discussed ways that churches can prepare for the event, and his hopes for the Black Hills community.
“People are looking for peace, they’re looking for happiness, they’re looking for joy, and I know people are looking for jobs, looking for income, they’re looking for…but all that is really found in the person, the work of the Lord Jesus Christ,” said Graham. “That’s what changes the human heart, and so, we want to come here and we want to see lives changed, we want to see people surrender their lives to Christ and start following God.”
To better understand and serve the area, members of Grahams team are embedding themselves within the community. One member will even be living in Rapid City leading up to the Paha Sapa. Among those attending the launch were also several leaders of native churches. They welcomed Graham as a relative, and are working to host him on the Pine Ridge Reservation for a separate event. The Paha Sapa Celebration is a free event, and open to all. The event will take place September 24th through the 26th, 2021.
