Grapes & Grinds, a shop in Keystone, offers more than just wine and coffee and is a place that the whole family can joy.
“Well, we kind of specialize in primarily coffee and wine. But in addition to that, we have gift-ware and we actually make authentic Italian Gelato. We do the artistry of the, you know, the sculpting on top and all that, and that’s kind of one of the main things that we’re known for,” Clay King, general manager of Grapes & Grinds, says.
After getting something to drinks or some gelato to enjoy, the shop offers customers a large outdoor environment with plenty to do.
“We’re kind of one of the only large open spaces in Keystone, and with Keystone getting so crazy and busy, we wanted to create a place that was kind of like an Oasis for people to come,” King explains. “About five years ago, we put in a giant chess board, and since then it’s gotten so much use. We’ve just every year ‘what can we add next?’ And so now we’ve got outdoor foosball. We’ve got two giant chess boards. We’ve got cornhole. We’ve got a playground, a dog park. We’ve got Gaga Ball for the kids. If you’ve got a group of family, they all want to play a game together and that’s, of course, all free. Just come hang out with us.”
Along with their own variety of outdoor games, a mini golf course is located right by the shop.
“Holy Terror mini golf. Certainly one of the most challenging mini golf courses in the area. It’s a 18-hole mini golf course that meanders its way up the mountain side, around mine’s loose and a river rushing down the mountain, and then back down. Yeah, it’s a whole lot of fun for family,” King says.
He says they close up shop in September for the season and usually open up again in mid-May. Grapes & Grinds is open 7 a.m.-9 p.m., every day of the week.
