Here’s what is happening at Deadwood’s Oktoberfest

Deadwood Oktoberfest

The annual Oktoberfest in Deadwood is being held Friday, Sept. 30 and Saturday, Oct. 1. The two-day event will give attendees the chance to enjoy live German music at the PolkaFest, a poker run with prizes, free food and dancing.

Friday Events

• 1-5 p.m.: Polka! Live Music – Outlaw Square
• 4-7 p.m.: Poker Run Registration – Outlaw Square (Free poker run at various locations around Deadwood and a chance to win prizes. Must be 21+ to participate)
• 5 p.m.: Brat Giveaway at Mr. Wu’s (while supplies last)
• 5 p.m.: Poker Run – Various Locations (All completed poker run cards must be turned into the registration table at Outlaw Square by 9 p.m. to qualify)
• 7-9 p.m.: Polka! Live Music – Outlaw Square
• 9:15 p.m.: Poker Run Awards – Outlaw Square

Saturday Events

• 11 a.m.: Registration for Wiener Dog Races – Main Street in front of Mustang Sally’s
• 12 p.m.: Brat Giveaway (while supplies last)
• 1 p.m.: Wiener Dog Races – Main Street in front of The Bullock Hotel (Daschunds compete for “Fastest Wiener in the West” honors)
• 1-4 p.m.: Weim, Wine & Cheese – Main Street in front of the Saloon 10 (Wine & cheese tasting. Proceeds benefit the Canine Cancer Fund)
• 1-4 p.m.: Polka! Live Music – Outlaw Square
• 2 p.m.: Registration for Beer Barrel Games – Main Street in front of the Gold Dust (Must be 21+ to participate. Number of participants is limited)
• 2-4 p.m.: German Cook-Off – Various Locations
• 3 p.m.: Beer Barrel Games – Main Street in front of the Gold Dust
• 5-7 p.m.: Polka! Live Music by The Happy Wanderers – Outlaw Square
• 7 p.m.: Beer Barrel Awards – Outlaw Square
