RAPID CITY, S.D. — A Hippie Haven spokesperson says in exchange for donating tampons, pads, and sanitary wipes – women can get a free menstrual cup.
The donations will go to local nonprofits.
Cups are a more economical choice over single-use products, but the more sustainable choice may not be accessible or feasible low-income women.
Jess Huntsman with Hippie Haven says, “Using a reusable more sustainable option like a period cup works wonders and you know its a lot safer, it’s a lot better for the environment and again does not produce so much waste and you can continue to use it for around like 10 years , at least.”
Feminine hygiene products can be dropped off during store hours, Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
