RAPID CITY, S.D. — The Pink Boot Society is a nonprofit organization for women in the beer industry. The organization hopes to empower female beer professionals to advance their career in the industry though education.
On Monday night, Independent Ale House in downtown Rapid City featured six beers from six different South Dakota breweries to celebrate Women’s Brew Day. The beer will be available at Independent Ale House until the kegs run out.
The ladies brew a special craft beer once a year in correlation with International Women’s Day.
“They all get a collaborative hope together and they all put their own spin on it, so it’s just a super fun event to do to showcase, you know, we have six different versions of the beer on tonight from all across the state of S.D.,” said Justin Hendricksen, owner of Independent Ale House.
Part of the proceeds from Monday’s Pink Boot Society event will go to the organization, which offers scholarships for women in the beer industry.
