RAPID CITY, S.D. — On September 23, a television crew visited the Journey Museum and Learning Center to film the building for the upcoming season of “Behind the Scenes with Host Laurence Fishburne.”
“Behind the Scenes with Host Laurence Fishburne” is a documentary series for public television that creates both long and short-form programs that focus on global industries and topics that have innovative, inspiring, and artistic qualities.
Details about what the show will be highlighting or talking about at the museum remain unknown at the moment. However, this is not the first time the facility has been in the spotlight.
“We’ve had a little bit of national exposure before,” Executive Director, Troy Kilpatrick, said. “We had CNN history tour in here two years ago prior to the pandemic, but nothing on this scope, where we’re doing something that’s going to be produced and deliberately shared throughout the country like Behind The Scenes.“
Kilpatrick and everyone at the museum were excited about the crew’s visit.
This opportunity, though, comes on the heels of more than two decades worth of service and work put in by the many employees and volunteers of past and present that have helped bring the museum and its missions to life.
“There’s 24 years worth of volunteers and community members who have really given of themselves selflessly, in time and in money,” he emphasizes. “To make sure The Journey is here to be featured in Behind The Scenes.“
Information about the exact date and time for the episode of the show has yet to be released, but will air in early 2022. It will also have a digital and online release upon airing.
