Kids Fair in a Box brings fun home for kids

RAPID CITY, S.D. — The Youth and Family Services Kids Fair in a Box is on sale for $29.99 plus sales tax.

The box is filled with activities that typically can be found at the Kids fair, that encourage creative play, gross and fine motor skills and literacy. The box may also be a good tool to have for when the cold sets in again, as it’s equipped with many indoor activities. There are nine activities for children ages 3 and up.

Each kit includes nine fun activities and one book:

1. Ingredients to make homemade playdough
2. One pound of sensory sand
3. Face paint
4. Glider airplane assembly kit
5. Nutrition-focused coloring sheets with crayons
6. Supplies to build your own sponge ball
7. Activity tiles and jump rope
8. Bean bags with activity cards
9. A learn-to-floss activity
10. The Good Egg by Jory John and Pete Oswald

“So really to not have that presence in the community and just even to get to interact with those kids and let alone raising the money, it is hard to see the event not happen and so that is why we created this kids fair in a box,” said Katie Flemming, the YFS Kids Fair Chair.

Limited quantities are available. Price does not include sales tax which will be applied during checkout. Many of the activities can be enjoyed more than once.

“It is great to have something they can do in the home, so it’s a lot of different activities, and many of them they can even reuse, so it’s not a one-and-done,” Flemming said.

Kits purchased online can be picked up at Youth & Family Services’, at 1920 N Plaza Blvd. site in Rapid City between 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
