RAPID CITY, S.D. — After a year off because of COVID, a downtown Rapid City favorite returns this weekend – the Main Street Square Kids Festival is back.
It runs from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturday, June 5. The event is free to attend, although tickets are required for many of the attractions.
There will be bounce houses, a train ride, midway games, and a dunk tank.
Main Street Square’s Executive Director says it’s exactly the type of event the Square was created for.
“That’s an event that embodies the vision for Main Street Square. Bouncing castles, trains, kids milling around, having a good time – even to the point where it extends over into Memorial Park and it is the event that the visionary for Main Street Square, Ray Hildebrand, that is the event that he had in mind,” said Domico Rodriguez, Executive Director, Main Street Square.
Attendees can either buy tickets for individual attractions or get a carnival day pass, which gives access to the bounce houses, train, midway games, and three balls at the dunk tank.
In addition, Sky Dancing Aerial Studio will perform at noon and 1:15 p.m.
