RAPID CITY, S.D. — Mary’s Mountain Cookies in Rapid City donating all of their proceeds today to the spouse of Riley McCollum – one of the thirteen who lost their lives in Afghanistan just weeks ago.
From 10 A.M. to 2 P.M. on Saturday- all the proceeds went to Riley’s pregnant spouse that’s due in a few weeks.
Owners Julie and Rob Mahaffey started the idea with a sister store in Cheyenne, Wyoming who’s also donating 100 percent of their proceeds on Sunday.
The support they’ve received already isn’t a shock for the Mahaffey’s.
“It started last night (Friday),” Julie Mahaffey said. “People bringing in envelopes for donations. So I mean Rapid City has been that way since we opened our shop three years ago. They’ve honestly just taken us in and helped us and we were like this, it just makes sense.”
You can still make a donation by dropping it off at Mary’s Mountain Cookies.
