BOX ELDER, S.D. — In keeping with the growth of Box Elder, Monument Health announced Monday plans to build an urgent care facility near the planned location of Liberty Plaza.
The 2.15-acre parcel of land will provide enough space for family medicine and primary care services.
“Box Elder is one of the fastest growing cities in South Dakota, and with the new mission for Ellsworth Air Force Base, that growth is expected to continue, if not accelerate,” said Mark Schulte, Monument Health Vice President of Operations for the Rapid City Market. “The need for convenient health care will continue to grow, and with this urgent care we can meet these needs now and in the future.”
Box Elder’s population grew nearly 50% from the 2010 Census – jumping to 11,764 in 2020. More growth is anticipated with Ellsworth being the future home of the B-21 Raider for the U.S. Air Force.
