RAPID CITY, S.D. — The Great Plains Tribal Chairmen’s Health Board is moving to a temporary location while the new Oyate Health Center facility undergoes construction.
The new temporary location is at 725 N Lacrosse Street. It will provide clinical services and the Health Board also intends to expand behavioral health services at the new site.
As construction continues on the new $100,000,000 health clinic, demolition will soon occur to make the new facility three times as large as the current one.
“We needed a location somewhere in town where our patients were gonna be able to easily access it and still have the high-quality building where health care needs can be met,” said Brandon Ecoffey, the Director of Communications at the Great Plains Tribal Chairmen’s Health Board. “It will give us an option to have a satellite campus or satellite building where patients who couldn’t make it to the west side or have difficulty finding transportation to get there. They will be able to access care on the north side right there off Lacrosse.”
The new Oyate Health Center is scheduled to open in the Spring of 2023.
