PIERRE, S.D. — Governor Noem signed an executive order on Tuesday extending the timeframe hay haulers can operate.
The order allows haulers to move hay two hours before sunrise and two hours after sunset.
Persistent drought conditions continue to negatively impact feed for livestock and Noem’s order will increase farmers and ranchers access to hay.
The executive order applies to oversize hay haulers operating with a permit, who must be properly equipped and cannot run overweight.
