NORTHERN HILLS, S.D. — Several cities in the Northern Hills are holding municipal and school board elections Tuesday, April 13.
Spearfish 2021 Municipal and School Board Election
A Municipal and School Board Election will be held on Tuesday, April 13th in Spearfish.
The following candidates are running for a 3-year term, Ward 2 Council Member position:
- Scott Hourigan
- Rob Herrmann
- Drew Dutton
The following candidates are running for a 3-year term for two School Board Member positions:
- Elliot Rayman
- Ellen Plocek
- Nancy Roberts
- Daniel Hartman
- Nathan Hoogshagen
- TJ Ewing
The election polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Senior Citizen’s Center located at 1306 N. 10th Street in Spearfish.
If the polls cannot be opened due to inclement weather, the election may be postponed one week.
Summerset 2021 Municipal Election
A Mayoral Election will be held on Tuesday, April 13th in Summerset.
The following candidates are running for Mayor:
- Melanie Torno
- Tim Hughes
The election polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Summerset City Hall, 7055 Leisure Lane.
Lead 2021 Municipal and School Board Election
A Municipal and School Board Election will be held on Tuesday, April 13th in Lead.
The following candidates are running for two available seats on the City Commission:
- Roger Thomas
- Kayla Klein
- Dustin Heupel
The following candidates are running for two available seats on the Lead-Deadwood School Board:
- James Neill
- Suzanne Rogers
- Tim Madsen
The election polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Sanford Lab Homestake Visitor Center, 160 W. Main St.
Belle Fourche 2021 Municipal and School Board Election
A Mayoral, Municipal, and School Board Election will be held on Tuesday, April 13th in Belle Fourche.
The following candidates are running for Mayor:

- Randy Schmidt
- Rebecca Larson
The following candidates are running for one available seat for Ward 2:
- Clark Sowers
- Derrick Erhart
The following candidates are running for one available seat for Ward 3:

Whitewood 2021 Municipal Election
A Municipal Election will be held on Tuesday, April 13th in Whitewood.
The following candidates are running for one available seat for Ward 3:
- Brenda Werlinger
- Mike Weyrich
The election polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Whitewood City Hall, 1025 Meade St.
Newell 2021 Municipal Election
A Mayoral Election will be held on Tuesday, April 13th in Newell.
