Just before the Legends Ride rode off, Governor Kristi Noem was standing by with artist David Uhl to auction off a painting for a cause.
The painting depicts the governor atop her horse “Iceman” at Custer State Park’s Buffalo Roundup.
Uhl’s painting shows the famed bison, but also bikers riding the wildlife loop in the background.
The bidding started at $2,500 and closed with the winning bid at $55,000.
The proceeds from the sale benefit the non-profit, anti-trafficking organization “Treasured Lives.”
