Peaceful prayer march held in Pierre

PIERRE, S.D. — Approximately two dozen people took part in a scheduled prayer march around the State Capitol building in Pierre on Sunday.

The group, Jericho March, was previously issued an event permit, and had anticipated that 50 people would walk around the Capitol building seven times while praying for America.

Marchers included men, women, and children, who walked peacefully and prayed aloud. Several participants stopped during the walk to lay their hands on the building in prayer.

Dozens of State Troopers and National Guard members stood watch both inside and outside the Capitol.
