RAPID CITY, S.D. — This weekend, members of the community made their way out to the Summit Arena to get their view during the venues open house.
The arena – according to officials is event ready but showings like this help the community get acclimated to the new environment.
Newscenter1 spoke to many members of the community – some who have their concerns about the ability to sell tickets in the new arena – while others are excited about what it will bring for the community.
“It’s bigger than I thought it would be insightful if you go to big arenas and other cities, this is what it looks like. Hopefully it does a lot of things for rapid city and events, bigger events bring out more people,” said Rich Taylor from Rapid City.
The first event in the new arena is the all-state chorus and orchestra concerts scheduled for next Saturday, October 30.
