RAPID CITY, S.D. — A bike path expansion is up for consideration as the Rapid City Public Works Committee approved a budget of a little over $33,000.
The path runs down the east side of Cambell Street and the current path cuts off right before Rocker Street.
The expansion will continue from the point where it currently cuts off, and it will go all the way out to Omaha Street.
“The South Dakota Department of Transportation is going to be installing a sidewalk, a widened sidewalk along the north side of Highway 44. That will run all the way past Western Dakota Tech, so there will be now a nice way for people to ride their bike all the way to Western Dakota Tech,” says Jeff Biegler, director of Parks and Rec.
The item will move onto the next City Council meeting on Aug. 17.
