RAPID CITY, S.D. — Rapid City Regional Airport is coming off its highest month ever for passenger boardings.
RAP reporting 50,805 enplaned passengers in July – that tops the previous record high in July of 2019 by 15%.
The airport recorded a little over 100,000 total passengers in July, compared to 40,000-plus for the same month last year – four months into the pandemic.
For the first seven months of this year, passenger numbers are 6% below 2019 – but they’re expected to surpass the 2019 numbers by the end of the year.
