The ambassadors assist visitors find their way around the area, downtown and beyond, whether it be a tourist attraction or a restaurant.
Domico Rodriguez, the President and CEO of Main Street Square says that the ambassadors serve as a stopgap for those looking to enjoy the black hills.
“That’s what the namesake is entitled for. Also, you know, they help with our locals as far as way finding, they’re just another set of eyes on the street to help with the travelers, or the visitors as well as people who just need directions and things like that,” Rodriguez said.
Rodriguez adds that main street square is always looking for volunteers to serve as ambassadors and will look to extend the program into other seasons as the demand in the tourism industry increase.
