North Middle School
RAPID CITY, S.D. — Rapid City Police say a threatening social media post directed at a North Middle School prompted the Rapid City Area School District to cancel classes on Friday “out of an abundance of caution.”
The threat comes days after a Tik Tok post made threats towards schools nationwide for December 17.
RCPD continues to investigate the threat, which they believe at this time originated in Iowa.
“Law enforcement began investigating the origin of the post to determine whether or not it applied to the local North Middle School,” RCPD wrote in the release.
As of the time of writing, Rapid City Police say no credible or actionable threat has been found.
