RAPID CITY, S.D. — Rapid City Area Schools is bringing career learning into its high school curriculum.
With the district’s newly launched Academies and Pathways Program students can partner with one of several local sponsors to get hands on job experience.
The goal is to expand the district’s Pathways Program and help give students a better career planning heading into their college years.
“And really what that means is were utilizing our business in higher ed community and bringing in opportunities to understand relevant and work based learning experiences, so that they’re linking what they’re doing in high school to what they want to do in the future and also good at,” said Melissa Miller Kincart, Director of Partnerships and College Career Readiness at RCAS.
The Academy Sponsors include Elevate Rapid City, Midco, Scull Construction, and Monument Health to give students an array of opportunities.
