RAPID CITY, S.D. — The Rapid City Area Schools Board of Education will consider lifting its mask mandate for the remainder of the school year when it meets Monday night.
The meeting is at 5:30 p.m. Monday, May 10.
The RCAS Administration recently surveyed staff and student families about continuing its masking policy.
In an email to parents, RCAS said 40% of staff still support a mandate, while 60% would like to see it go away. The margin was even wider among parents, with 32% supporting the mandate and 68% saying they want it lifted.
Monday’s meeting will be at the Rapid City Education Center on Ninth Street. There will be limited in-person seating available.
Parents can also join via Zoom.
