STURGIS, S.D. — First-timers and repeat Rally-goers alike getting the chance to explore the Black Hills with those in the know.
Ride with a Local taking off from the Sturgis Community Center tennis courts Friday morning – giving participants a chance to experience the best sights and delights the Black Hills have to offer.
Three rides are scheduled during Rally week and attendance is limited – for a good reason.
“They talked about all the rides that people go on…and some of the rides are a little overwhelming cause there’s so many people. And so this is just an intimate little ride of 25 bikes,” says Susan Johnson, CEO of Black Hills Vacations.
The small group taking a route through the Northern Hills Friday, going places most bikers wouldn’t otherwise see – like Lead.
“It’s just a great opportunity for us as locals to be able to showcase areas of the Black Hills that the riders maybe new to the Rally haven’t seen before,” says Michelle Thomson, President/CEO of Black Hills & Badlands Tourism Association.
There’s still two more rides left; as of Friday, the Tuesday ride is sold out – meaning your last opportunity to “ride with a local” is Friday, August 13.
