LAS VEGAS, NV – Sawyer Gilbert from Buffalo, South Dakota capped off an outstanding season Tuesday by winning the 2021 world breakaway roping title and the average at the Wrangler National Finals in Las Vegas.
Gilbert was the only contestant to rope all 10 calves.
In fact, the 19-year-old posted a time of 46.3 seconds on 10 head.
Overall, Gilbert won $19,532 at the National Finals after placing in five rounds
Plus, Gilbert captured her first world title by $2,197 over Shelby Boisjoli.
Earlier this year, Gilbert won the breakaway titles at both the Pendelton Roundup in Oregon and at Cheyenne Frontier Days.
