RAPID CITY, S.D. — Fleet Farm’s throughout the nation hosted “Taps Across America” in honor of Memorial Day Monday.
Five cadets from Central High School’s JROTC served as the honour guard on the Rapid City Fleet Farm location. They present colour guard assist for numerous capabilities, together with faculty graduations and army reunions.
Troy Spear, SFC (retired)., the Army teacher for Central High’s JROTC, says, “I get pleasure from working with the younger folks and attempt to instill upon them what it means to be an American citizen and to not take the freedoms and stuff that we’ve for granted. You must serve to keep up these freedoms.”
An area musician performed faucets because the cadets offered colours to a silent group of on-lookers.
“I play in lots of the bands round right here as a volunteer,” says Bel Felix. “It’s an honor.”
Felix says she’s been taking part in with native teams for a few years, and enjoys volunteering her time for Memorial Day and veterans companies.
