The Silver Lining Creamery is a premium small-batch ice cream shop right in the heart of Downtown Rapid City. The creamery features a rotation of unique flavors and toppings which set it apart from other ice cream shops in the Black Hills area.
Delaney Kost, manager of The Silver Lining Creamery, described some of the inventive ice cream flavors offered at the shop.
“Sometimes we like to try some different combinations, such as banana and salted caramel or brown sugar and peanut butter, just to kind of get people trying new things,” said Kost.
According to Kost, the ice cream shop even occasionally experiments with a little heat.
“So, sometimes we like to offer, like, a spicy ice cream,” said Kost. “Once we had an Aztec chocolate, which is like a chocolate ice cream with cayenne pepper.”
Along with their unique ice cream flavor assortment, The Silver Lining Creamery offers two dairy free options at all times, as well as homemade plain and dipped waffle cones. The shop also serves specialty sundaes, banana splits, shakes and their own creation, Storms.
“So we have a Storm where you get to pick your ice cream and add some toppings that even just get to blend in and make that ice cream even more something to it,” said Kost.
The toppings available at The Silver Lining include candy, nuts, sprinkles, gummies and a variety of sauces, so customers can customize the already unique ice cream flavors by ordering a Storm with their favorite ingredients.
Kost said the ice cream is made in-house in small batches, which guarantees each flavor is fresh and delicious.
“And a lot of times the best part is people can come in and see exactly where it’s made or see it even being made in the action, and so they know exactly where it’s coming from and where this ice cream is being made,” said Kost.
Quarts, pints and half-pints of every ice cream flavor are available for purchase at the shop, along with special dog treats which are homemade with yogurt, peanut butter and crushed Fido dog treats.
