RAPID CITY, S.D. — The Stock Show has officially come to a close, and the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center is already getting to work on its next event.
The Civic Center was empty, save the dirt left over from the Stock Show, but the operations team is currently in clean-up mode – getting ready for the 39th annual Black Hills Sports Show and Outdoor Expo next week, which is expected to be a hit.
“They have something for everyone. They have vendors, in terms of they have campers, they have boats. They have people that sell trips, hunting expeditions. They also have folks that have, local folks that run their own businesses,” said Tanya Gray, Event Services Manager at the Civic Center.
Operations crews began cleanup Saturday evening, and were at the center bright and early removing dirt from the Barnett Arena and cleaning up the sale barn.
Gray says the Civic Center will be ready for move in by Wednesday morning at 7 a.m.
The Expo begins Friday at noon and will wrap up Sunday afternoon.
