NEW YORK (AP) — Stocks fell in afternoon trading on Wall Street Wednesday and trading remained choppy as traders attempt to decide how rising rates of interest and inflation will affect the economic system.
The S&P 500 fell 1%, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.9% and the Nasdaq fell 0.6%.
Banks and industrial shares fell broadly, as did some huge know-how corporations. Intel fell 5.2%.
The yield on the 10-year Treasury, which helps set rates of interest on mortgages, rose.
It’s been a bumpy week for main indexes, which have lurched between beneficial properties and losses, generally by the hour, however shares are nonetheless largely on monitor for weekly beneficial properties.
