RAPID CITY, S.D. — The Summer Nights Series is back beginning Thursday night, June 3, in downtown Rapid City.
Every Thursday night until Labor Day, bands will take the stage and the line up this year is a mix of country and rock. This summer they are aiming to have the event more spread out and are eliminating the kids jumping castles.
Happy hour begins at 5 p.m. and bands start at 6 p.m. There will be a variety of food and beer vendors set up downtown.
“I think the community will see a great diverse band line up, a lot of locals and then we pick out some regional favorites and then we got a couple bands from Nashville,” said Judd Nielsen, President of Rapid City Summer Nights. “And they all come to bring it, you know they bring the entertainment; I think it should be fun for everybody when they come down there.”
Nielsen adds that it takes a small army of volunteers to pull off the success of the event, around 100 each night.
