Darcy Beatty, owner and manager of The Bestro in Tuscany Square shares about this hidden gem in Rapid City.
“We’re three and a half years old. We started because my husband had always wanted a coffee bar for his customers at BES lighting. And in 2007, when he moved down here to Tuscany Square, it just never happened. So, ten years later, in 2017, a couple of our daughters were old enough and one worked at Starbucks, and he decided to expand into this bigger space to sell furniture. And so we asked our girls, ‘hey, do you guys want to help us do a coffee shop?’ And they said, ‘Yes, we want to.”
And The Bestro was born. It was designed to help service the customers at BES, but also as just a new place to be.
Beatty describes what The Bestro has to offer.
“We offer a few limited breakfast items like burritos, the fried egg sandwich, our own egg bakes. We vary them every day. We have lots of baked goods. I have a baker who bakes for me and we offer sandwiches, soup and salads and lots of other things, protein balls, protein shakes and Any coffee drink you can imagine. We have all of that.”
Additionally, The Bestro offers keto friendly and gluten free items.
Beatty elaborates, “I had a friend and a big supporter at the market and she’s on a keto diet. I wanted her to have a treat. So, I found some recipes and we started offering keto treats and lo and behold there’s a whole community in Rapid City that eats keto. So we’ve been able to cater to those people and it hits the gluten free people who can’t eat gluten. So it kind of gives them a treat too. So it’s kind of fun.”
Beatty describes other things that The Bestro offers.
“We also do special orders or we do catering like sandwich platters and box lunches. We also offer afternoon tea, so we use real vintage teacups. If you can schedule it 48 hours in advance, we decorate the whole table with tablecloths, the teacups, the china and all the food that goes with it. So it’s a really fun experience. The ladies like to dress up, wear hats, and and then we have it all decorated, and it’s just a fun time to visit with friends and just have a good meal and just something special that not anyone else in town can do.”
Beatty explains what is special about The Bestro. “All my staff really enjoys working with people. So I think all of us are here because we enjoy what we do.”
The Bestro is open 7am to 3 pm Monday through Friday and 9 to 3 on Saturday. The Bestro is closed on Sunday. For more information or to order online, visit their website here.
