RAPID CITY, S.D. — The Journey Museum and Learning Center celebrated Native American Day, October 12, by hosting classes on Native American culture.
The Tuesday Toddler Time focused on the wonder of the bison or Tatanka. Events took place throughout the day including a Lakota Culture ledger art activity.
The Journey Museum & Learning Center regularly adds new events, exhibits and features to the expansive museum, covering American history, Black Hills history and Native American culture.
“In order to celebrate the culture of the area, we decided to put on activities to kind of show some appreciation to our differences of our cultures and give the public a spectrum of different things that we do in our culture to celebrate life,” said Tally Monteau, of the Journey Museum’s Education Team.
