BADLANDS NATIONAL PARK, S.D. — Pennington County Search and Rescue was called out to Badlands National Park Friday evening after three people became stuck in a ravine.
The three individuals fell down a ravine along Highway 240, around two miles north of the Badlands Pinnacles Ranger Station, and were trapped for nearly two hours before getting the attention of a passerby.
Pennington County SAR successfully performed a vertical rope rescue. None of the stranded individuals were injured.
Wall Fire, Wall Ambulance, Badlands National Park law enforcement, and the Pennington County Sheriff’s Office all responded to the scene.
