RAPID CITY, S.D. — The U.S. Marine Corps along with local volunteer groups conduct the local toy collection and distribution each year for Christmas.
The mission of Toys for Tots is to bring Christmas joy to less fortunate children with a goal of delivering a message of hope, especially during the pandemic.
This year’s event will be a drive-through style. As a result of this, more volunteer effort will be needed the week leading into distribution day, packing up boxes of toys for the families.
Crissy Davies, Co-Coordinator of Toys for Tots of the Black Hills, says, “This year Toys for Tots is going to look a lot different than it normally does, so we are doing a drive-through so everybody has to pre-register, prior to December 6 and when they pre-register, we will pack up the boxes and they will come through the Soule building at the Central States Fairgrounds this year.”
Look for donation boxes in the coming weeks.
This Distribution date is December 13 at the Central States Fairgrounds, Soule Building.
