RAPID CITY, S.D. — Treasured Lives is a non-profit advocacy group that focuses on helping victims of sex trafficking for the last two years.
On Saturday, the organization held an educational awareness event at The Monument to help in that mission.
It’s led by Kelly Patterson, a former victim who says that the power of information can and already is helping with finding other victims.
“It’s amazing how many girls and guys are being found or someone reaching out to them, or they’re making themselves available in a way that that public knows, and then people have someone that they can go to,” Patterson said. “Our aim is to see the citizens rise up, be aware and be available.”
