RAPID CITY, S.D. — The Grinch made an appearance at the VFW Post 1273 Saturday afternoon.
It was part of an effort to raise awareness about suicide among teens. The Grinch came along to encourage teens and children to have a cookie after they were done helping to decorate the tree at Main Street Square.
Those who attended the event were able to support the Front Porch Coalition by purchasing a cup of hot chocolate and a cookie for five dollars.
“(Suicide) in our teens has increased by 233 percent, so we’re out here advocating to make sure that there’s no more deaths by suicide from our teenagers,” said the Grinch.
