Wild Oats Restaurant in Lemmon, S.D., is a family-owned business. Managed by a husband and wife team who both love food and music creating a place with amazing food and awesome entertainment.
Owned by Carrie Thoele and her husband Dan, Wild Oats offers a variety of food and drink selections. Carrie says, “We offer South Dakota raised beef, which is our highlight feature and some other fun burgers like a popper burger and a wild oat sandwich. They’re kind of our specialty sandwiches here. We have a salad bar, we serve from 11am to 9pm Monday through Saturday. Once in a while, we’re open on Sundays for a special occasion.”
Carrie continues, “We have domestic beers. We have specialty – any different kind of liquor. I mean, really, if our customers ask for it, we try to get it. We do a daily special and kind of change that up, it’s up to whoever is bartending that day. We do have live music occasionally. We try to stick with S.D. bands that play their own music.”
Coming from a rural area herself, Carrie illustrates how important it is to support businesses from the surrounding areas. “We all help each other out. We eat at other restaurants. We- the Kokomo, when they have live music and beer there, we send people there after they’re done eating here and they send people here, vice versa. With all the places in town, we try to get our tourists all around if we can.”
